Firearm evolution practice questions for Canada
These 3 firearm evolution questions are drawn from the CFSC Practice Test. They are original practice items written from published Canadian Firearms Safety Course curriculum topics, with an explanation on every answer.
Firearm evolution questions
1Which three assemblies make up any firearm?
Show the answer
Barrel, action, stock
Every firearm reduces to these three, whatever its age or type. Learning to name parts by assembly is what lets you follow instructions for an action you have not handled before.
2A firearm's chamber is part of which assembly?
Show the answer
The barrel
The chamber is the rear portion of the barrel where the cartridge sits. Knowing this matters because proving a firearm safe means inspecting the chamber and then the bore, which are the same component.
3What distinguishes a repeating action from a single shot?
Show the answer
It holds more than one cartridge and can reload the chamber without handling a new round
The practical consequence is that clearing the chamber on a repeater does not make it safe. The magazine must be dealt with first or the action simply feeds another round.
