About Hunters Guide

Hunters Guide publishes free hunter education practice exams and licensing guides for Canadian provinces. Everything here is study material. None of it certifies you to hunt.

Who writes this

Hunters Guide is an independent Canadian publisher of hunter education study material. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any provincial government, any hunter education administrator, or any other hunting website.

Licensing guides are written from provincial government sources and the organisations that administer each hunter education program, and every factual claim carries a link to the page it came from.

How the practice questions are written

All 146 questions are original. They are written from published curriculum topics, not copied from any official exam bank, because reproducing an official question bank would infringe the copyright of the body that wrote it.

Every question is also checked automatically against a corpus of existing question phrasings from other hunter education sites. Any question that scores too similar to an existing one is rewritten before it can be published.

Reporting an error

Regulations change between seasons and a question that was right last year can be wrong this year. If you spot an error, tell us which question and which province and we will correct it. Accuracy comes before everything else here.
